I must say, as I have in a previous post, how I miss the cookies the Aspen Ski Company used to give out. You know the little dutch boys. Now the treat of choice is the Nature Valley Granola bar, healthier and more filling to be sure. I used to love these as a kid, but some how they just don’t pull me over to the hospitality stations as much as the cookies used to.

So, it was with great pleasure the other day that I saw something else being dolled out to the ravished skiers at Aspen Highlands. What this… A tiny little Cloud Nine Brownie. “Thats great” the skico is going in the right direction. Wait a minute…..

Cloud Nine Brownie

These mini brownies where being handed out by none other than the owner of Cloud Nine Brownies, Jim Pomeroy. In the greatest of marketing stunts… Giving stuff away for free…. We love that….

I’m sure you’ve seen the Cloud Nine Brownies around and perhaps have had one or two. The minis are a step in the right direction. The perfect bite. This little mini led us down the path of visiting the Cloud Nine Bakery at the AABC and leaving with a few gift boxes of brownies for the lucky, and one for ourselves. Yes giving stuff away for free does work.

These brownies are tasty and very rich. I would suggest sharing a whole brownie, for I have went over the edge myself. Look for them in shops around town and in some on mountain restaurants, and cross your fingers that the idea of the Cloud Nine Cafe comes to fruition. You can always order them online at CloudNineBrownies.com or give them a call and pick some up.. We will keep you posted at Aspen’s Restaurant Guide when the Cloud Nine Cafe becomes a reality.
