You can now get fresh locally grown herbs, salad, fruits, and vegetables at Delicious Orchard’s small farmer’s market stand in Aspen on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 1pm-6pm. You can find them in front of Victoria’s Coffee on the Mill St. pedestrian mall, right up from the Wheeler Opera House. They are working with 15 different farms in the Paonia area to bring what is truly fresh and abundant into Aspen, feeding the valley’s soul.
Delicious Orchards normally supply Aspen Restaurants with ingredients and it was one extra step to bring it to you and me. So what’s in Season? The Asparagus is almost done. Strawberries are coming on. Peas should be plentiful next week. Herbs, Mescalun, Kale, Swiss Chard, and Bok Choy are always available. It will be a good fruit year with great peaches but few apricots. Also always available is a great local goat cheese from Avalanche Cheese Company.
