Do Travel Writer’s Go To Hell?

I read this book, Do Travel Writers Go To Hell It made me wary of guide books. I am traveling away from Aspen with my family. My sister and I wanted to eat at a restaurant close to where we were staying. This restaurant is right on the water which has beautiful scenery. However, my mother decided she didn’t want to go there because the guide book gave it a bad review. After reading the above book I don’t think huge guide book companies are the best resource. Maybe just giving it a try and seeing what the food is like, or asking some locals. Who knows if there is a new chef? or a new waiter? or what is going on. Sometimes you just have to give a place a chance!

Guess what? We tried the restaurant and loved it! The waves crashed right next to us, while we had awesome cocktails, and good food! Next year we’ll be coming back there for more!

I’d recommend reading the book above if you travel a bit. It is an interesting insight into the books we use while traveling.
