ENTERTAINMENT, FIREWORKS AND MORE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Celebrate Fat Tuesday, February 9, at Snowmass Mall<\/em><\/p>\n

With true Mardi Gras spirit, Snowmass presents \u201cBeignet, Done That!,\u201d a FREE, fun-filled day of events on Fat Tuesday, February 9, at the Snowmass Mall and Fanny Hill. One of the biggest festivals of the season and one of the oldest Mardi Gras parties in the mountains, \u201cBeignet, Done That!\u201d will feature an early morning Mother Of All Ascensions uphill race, free entertainment with face painters and street performers, a traditional bead throw with nearly 30,000 colorful beads, a Mardi Gras Parade with floats on the Snowmass Mall and a spectacular firework display above Fanny Hill. The fun will continue late into the night at nearly 30 bars and restaurants in and around the Village. For more details, click\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s King and Queen of Mardi Gras are Joe Coffey, Town of Snowmass Village Housing Director, and Nancy Wilhelms, Executive Director of Anderson Ranch Arts Center.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fat Tuesday\u2019s festivities kick off bright and early at 7:00am, with the\u00a024th Annual Mother of All Ascensions,\u00a0<\/strong>a popular uphill costumed race that climbs 2,073 vertical feet from Base Village Plaza at the bottom of Fanny Hill to Gwyn\u2019s High Alpine Restaurant. Participants can use snowshoes, track skis, hiking boots or running shoes. Costumes are highly encouraged and tons of prizes are raffled off at the post-race awards ceremony. The Mardi Gras Celebration continues at 2:00pm with free entertainment, face painters and street performers on the Snowmass Mall. The annual massive bead throw starts at 3:00pm and the wildest, wackiest parade in the mountains follows at 4:00pm, packing the Mall with wall-to-wall revelers, floats featuring our Mardi Gras King and Queen, along with mountain jesters strutting their royal Mardi Gras style.<\/p>\n
