Yes, for those of us who live up valley dining in Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs is destination dining. \u00a0The question is how to make it to the destination.<\/p>\n
While traveling by vehicle along highway 82 is the most common way we travel through the\u00a0Roaring Fork Valley, the more scenic and adventurous mode of travel would be a bike ride down the Rio Grande trail. \u00a0This old railroad bed which is paved dirt & asphalt with a\u00a0grade of no more than 8 percent makes for a casual bike ride. \u00a0This bike bath follows the Roaring Fork River for long stretches from Aspen all the way to Glenwood Springs.<\/p>\n
While many bicyclists bike only as far as Woody Creek, Basalt isn’t much farther and the dining options are far more varied. \u00a0Historic Downtown Basalt is an idilic slice of America and well worth the stop while either biking or driving.<\/p>\n
