{"id":66,"date":"2008-12-24T09:55:35","date_gmt":"2008-12-24T16:55:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eataspen.com\/blog\/?p=66"},"modified":"2008-12-24T09:55:35","modified_gmt":"2008-12-24T16:55:35","slug":"a-little-sugar-plum-dancing-in-my-head","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eataspen.com\/blog\/a-little-sugar-plum-dancing-in-my-head\/","title":{"rendered":"A little Sugar Plum dancing in my head."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Traditional Sugarplums<br \/>\nIngredients<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup raisins or currants<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup dried apricots<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup dates<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 1\/2 cup toasted whole almonds<br \/>\n&#8211; 2 tsp ground cinnamon<br \/>\n&#8211; 3\/4 tsp ground nutmeg<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 tsp ground anise<br \/>\n&#8211; 1 Tbsp ground ginger<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/4 tsp ground cloves<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/2 cup confectioner&#8217;s sugar<br \/>\n&#8211; 1\/3 cup honey<br \/>\n&#8211; Confectioner&#8217;s sugar for rolling, as needed<\/p>\n<p> Combine the raisins, apricots, dates and almonds in a food processor and pulse until they are finely chopped. Alternatively, and more traditionally, chop by hand.<br \/>\nIn a mixing bowl, combine the chopped fruit and nut mixture with the confectioner&#8217;s sugar, and the spices. Mix by hand until the sugar coats all of the pieces.<\/p>\n<p>Add the honey, and mix until the mixture comes together into a stiff mass.<\/p>\n<p>Pinch off pieces of the mixture about 1 inch in diameter.
