On Tuesday, March 6th, renowned chef and restaurateur Hakan Thornstrom of Th\u00f6rnstr\u00f6ms K\u00f6k<\/strong>, Sweden, is inviting you to experience modern Swedish cuisine at Elevation<\/strong> restaurant.\u00a0 Hakan will prepare a five course meal, similar to what he has previously served at the Nobel Price Festivities. \u00a0Hakan was a member of The Swedish national chef\u00b4s team at age 20 and has previously cooked dinner for King Carl Gustav XVI of Sweden for his 60th birthday celebration.<\/p>\n

Yet 2011 was possibly the most exciting year yet for Hakan Thornstrom as he was awarded \u201cChef of the Year\u201d and “Restaurateur of the Year” in Sweden\u00a0and was also awarded a star in the Michelin Guide<\/p>\n

With the recent wide spread\u00a0interest in Scandinavian cuisine ( Noma voted no1 restaurant in the world 2011 \u00a0\u2013 Noma means\u00a0No<\/strong>rdisk\u00a0ma<\/strong>t = Nordic cuisine) we are very pleased to offer a unique experience at Elevation restaurant.<\/p>\n

Since no great meal is perfect without the pairing of great wine, we are pleased and honored to present our friend and world-renowned sommelier, Jay Fletcher, as guest sommelier for the evening.<\/p>\n

Jay Fletcher currently serves as the Executive Director of Fine Wine and Master Sommelier for Southern Wine and Spirits of Colorado.\u00a0 He is also the current Chairman of the Court of Master Sommeliers American Chapter\u2019s Board of Directors.\u00a0 Jay is the Cellar Master for the Guild of Sommeliers\u2019 extensive wine collection, an accredited Bordeaux Educator from the L\u2019Ecole du Vin in Bordeaux, France, and a Commandeur d\u2019Honneur from the Commanderie du Bontemps of the Medoc, Graves, Sauternes, and Barsac.<\/p>\n
