Soupskol<\/a>. \u00a0Over the last 3 days we’ve made 25 gallons of Roasted Garlic Mashed Potato Soup. \u00a0Yummy! \u00a0Yes eatAspen the cyber entity has feet firmly on the ground of Aspen, Colorado with the entry into the Soupskol competition.<\/p>\nI’ve always been facsinated with Soupskol, as it’s a great event. \u00a0It’s also one event in Aspen that the community really digs with a turn out of upwards of 3,000 people, nearly have the population. \u00a0Winterskol, geared to drive a little more business to Aspen during a slow period after the holiday also serves to bring light and warm soup to the locals.<\/p>\n
So, eatAspen.com the resource of everything tasting in Aspen has tossed our hat into the competition, \u00a0although winning would be great, we’re just happy to be a part. \u00a0As a cyberspace entity we didn’t have the natural resources available to many that enter this event like Aspen restaurants & caterers that have an available culinary staff, shiny kitchens, & excess food stuff to turn into soups.<\/p>\n
We’re a little like the Stone Soup Story. \u00a0We bring the water to boil in the pot, but it’s really the community that adds the ingredients. \u00a0Katrina & I had the idea,\u00a0Dan Silver, without hesitation contributed his culinary expertise, and P.J. of Backdoor Catering donated his kitchen and equipment to the cause. \u00a0Dan and I took about 10 hours over the past few days to cook 100 pounds of potatoes, roast 2 cases of garlic, combined with other ingredients making 25 gallons of soup to serve up at tonight’s Soupskol from 4-6pm on the corner of Hunter St. & Cooper Ave. in downtown Aspen. \u00a0Come by to say hi & have a taste of our soup.<\/p>\n
