Today was the first day I went skiing in at Ajax for the season. It was definitely early season conditions with patches of rocks. I enjoyed my first day out but didn’t last too long since there wasn’t a bunch of trails open. Instead, we headed to the Sundeck run by Aspen SkiCo. They sure make it appetizing to buy a snack there even if you are not hungry. You pay premium prices for the view and the transportation of the food to the top of the mountain.
How do you get away with a cheap meal at Aspen’s Sundeck Restaurant? Well, a bowl of chili is one of the ways to go. It will fill you up just enough so you can get home and eat something else. It will not blow your budget! If you are crafty, you can pick up a bunch of the free crackers and crumble them in your chili to make it a meal! I have also bough a slice of the cheese pizza which is cheaper than the slices with toppings! They are big enough for me!
Whatever you do, don’t get sucked into the grill! Before you know it, you have a burger, a side of fries, and drink and you have past the $20 mark! Of course, sometimes it is fun to splurge. I usually split this with a friend!
