Aspen’s Little Nell Hotel opens a new après ski bar at the hotel called Chair 9. The name refers to the number of chair lifts on Aspen Mountain, which currently is eight. The ninth chair is the final resting place for the Aspen skier who is ready to belly up to the bar and enjoy that hard-earned après ski celebration.
Located inside the hotel in the space formerly referred to as the Terrace Bar, Chair 9 will feature an approachable food menu along with freshly shucked oysters, shrimp, crab legs and lobster. Retro cocktails will dominate the drink menu with drinks like the “Let’s Start this Party Mai Tai” for $8 (a pitcher is available for $24), along with a large selection of wines, sparking wines and champagne by the glass. A $4 “shot of the day” is available until it’s gone. The bar will be open daily starting November 28 from 2-8 p.m. and will feature live music or DJs every single day, with programming help from The Belly Up. Several large television screens will show all the big games.
