The Aspen Mac & Cheese Festival takes place on E. Hopkins Avenue “restaurant row” Sept. 8 between 2-5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Local Aspen Caterers & Restaurants compete with Mac. & Cheese variants with the public being the ultimate judge in an event that is similar to Aspen’s Soupskol. Besides a number of 2oz portions of Mac. & Cheese attendees can indulge in other fun & games. Celebrity chef Susie Jimenez will return as a special guest.
Macaroni & Cheese entries will be cooked up by restaurants to include Finbarr’s Irish Pub, 8k Viceroy, Syzygy, Ute City, Smoke, Meatball Shack, Elevation, St. Regis, Snowmass Kitchen, L’Hostaria, Justice Snow’s, 520 Grill, Rustique, Clarks Market, Jimmy’s, Cache Cache, Steak House No. 316, Boogie’s Diner, Aspen Elks Lodge and the Red Onion.
In 2011 Rustique’s macaroni-and-cheese dish was awarded 1st place & Jimmy’s placed 2nd.
