Developer Bil Dithigher is coming close to his great grandfather’s former vision of building a restaurant atop the portion of West Aspen Mt. also know as Shadow Mountain. His new restaurant concept is that of an air ship floating aloft the peak. With recent developments concerning the possible purchase of air rights in Aspen, Dithigher plans to dock the air ship at 9,000 feet and open Aspen’s newest hot spot.
On partnering with Outback Steakhouse, Dithigher said “It’s a natural fit, with all the Aussie Ski Bums in town we’ll staff it with tons of authentic characters and fill the bar up with Kiwis just for the fun of it. It will be one hell of a ride.”
Test flights are planned today around Aspen. So don’t be surprise if you get buzzed by a dirigible while skiing Ruthies to Lift One A.
The only comment from a local FAA official was “Seriously, this has got to be an “April Fools”.
Later PR contacts confirmed that it was in fact a great idea but also probably an “April Fools”.
