Last Saturday afternoon Aspen Young Professionals Associations had their monthly event at the Aspen Mountain Club. I have been to the Aspen Mountain Club twice before when I taught skiing at Buttermilk. It is always a pleasure to eat there. However, I will probably never be an exclusive member of the club.
My friend and I skied for at least two hours before the event, which was a great idea since we spent a long leisurely lunch at the Aspen Mountain Club.
We entered the Aspen Mountain Club at 1pm. The entrance is on the side of the Sundeck on Aspen Mountain. We immediately went to the coat room where we took off our gear and slipped into slippers. I tried the bathroom out, used the lotion and the free combs.
AYPA had the tables in the back of the room. We had an awesome view of the mountains until the shades were closed. We started with wine, beer, and bread. We had a set menu for lunch, so I wasn’t able to try the buffet which looked awesome. Our soups came quickly and I chose the tomato soup which was good but not excellent. They forgot my companion to my left. Everyone had soup except for him and they kept on coming by but never noticed. We even reminded them about 3 different times.
The AYPA table in the middle of the room was served their entire meal and leaving before we had received our Entree. I had a vegetarian salad with avocado, parmesan cheese, and tomatoes. I enjoyed the salad! It took so long between the soup and our entree that we were wondering what happened. The wine flowed freely which was much appreciated. The dessert was a collection of brownies, cookies, and fruit.
In the end we were there for 2.5 hours eating and talking. It was great event get to know people.
