In a move that surprises many, Chicago’s Pizzeria Uno is set to take over Il Mulino New York at the base of Aspen Mountain. Pizzeria Uno’s CEO Frank Getdara assures stock holders “It’s not a Chicago / New York thing, it’s an Apres Ski Thing. Il Mulino can’t through down a good party vibe and we’ll change that for sure.” Getdara also explains that this move fits perfectly into Aspen’s plan to reach out to a larger demographic with a family friendly national chain at the base of the flagship mountain. Questioned on how they could possibly make such a big transition from high end restaurant to a pizza joint Getdara replies ‘Other than the inherent Chicago-New York differences we’re both Italian eateries and quite honestly one corporation is like any other.”
