Aspen Bars Aspen Restaurants

Last call for popular local Aspen eateries

bar-characters-1940The Spring off-season is coming up in Aspen and it’s the last call for a lot of restaurants as usual until they reopen for the summer season.  While a large portion of restaurants will match their seasonal closure to the end of the Ski season, which this year (2015) Aspen Mountain closes on April 19,  some close right before the season dips, like Pinons who will be closing on April 4th until they reopen for the summer season in mid June.

This Spring however will be your last chance to get your sushi on at Takah and a Guiness at Finbarr’s.  Takah Sushi closed for good on Saturday, April 18th while Finbarr’s will be closed for good April on 4th.

Takah Sushi was Aspen’s first Japanese restaurant serving fresh Sushi since the 80’s and it’s time for Casey to retire.  Takah always throws great end of the season parties with costume themes. The last evening at Takah will surely be a lot of fun.  They also will be hosting live music for Takah Tuesdays around 9pm throughout the rest of the season.

Finbarr’s Irish Pub had a short but memorable run.  It quickly became a gathering place for the international locals, sports fans and a casual drinking spot all the while serving some great pub food and plenty of beer.  The closing of Finbarr’s is precipitated by the sale of the building.  This should be a fun closing night as well.

Johnny McGuire’s closed for good on March 13, 2015 but may still throw a party this spring. Keep tuned.
