Elevation Restaurant with Guest Chef Hakan Thörnströms

On Tuesday, March 6th, renowned chef and restaurateur Hakan Thornstrom of Thörnströms Kök, Sweden, is inviting you to experience modern Swedish cuisine at Elevation restaurant.  Hakan will prepare a five course meal, similar to what he has previously served at the Nobel Price Festivities.  Hakan was a member of The Swedish national chef´s team at age 20 and has previously cooked dinner for King Carl Gustav XVI of Sweden for his 60th birthday celebration.

Yet 2011 was possibly the most exciting year yet for Hakan Thornstrom as he was awarded “Chef of the Year” and “Restaurateur of the Year” in Sweden and was also awarded a star in the Michelin Guide

With the recent wide spread interest in Scandinavian cuisine ( Noma voted no1 restaurant in the world 2011  – Noma means Nordisk mat = Nordic cuisine) we are very pleased to offer a unique experience at Elevation restaurant.

Since no great meal is perfect without the pairing of great wine, we are pleased and honored to present our friend and world-renowned sommelier, Jay Fletcher, as guest sommelier for the evening.

 

Jay Fletcher, MS

Jay Fletcher currently serves as the Executive Director of Fine Wine and Master Sommelier for Southern Wine and Spirits of Colorado.  He is also the current Chairman of the Court of Master Sommeliers American Chapter’s Board of Directors.  Jay is the Cellar Master for the Guild of Sommeliers’ extensive wine collection, an accredited Bordeaux Educator from the L’Ecole du Vin in Bordeaux, France, and a Commandeur d’Honneur from the Commanderie du Bontemps of the Medoc, Graves, Sauternes, and Barsac.
